Social Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Residential Social Workers to join the team at a new innovative Children’s Residential Service.  Initial 2 month temporary contract with potential for permanent opportunities.   Salary £16.00ph.

 

They provide young people in care with individualised therapeutic residential services within Northern Ireland. Our mission is to employ experienced, passionate, and qualified staff to support young people who may have been affected by trauma on a medium to long term basis with a view to transition into a less intense model of care.

 

The children / young people that can be placed or involved in our services sometimes display challenging behaviours. Our first home, located in Dungiven, is a large, detached property which is designed to house 2 children / young people aged 12-18.  At the moment there is one young person currently matched to the Home.

 

Job Purpose

As a residential care worker, you will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a therapeutic and safe environment where young people can feel secure, cared for and nurtured. You will work to build positive relationships with young people, assessing needs, assessing strengths, and looking at innovative ways to overcome any challenges that young people experience.

 

Criteria:

Applications should have Degree Qualified Youth and Community Workers, Health and Social Care, Social Work applications from those in their AYE year or a degree in a relevant field.  1 years children’s services experience (can include placement) is essential.
